Symphony Of Pain
Formed in London, England, Symphony of Pain consists of a songwriting/arranging partnership between Tracie Law (Ex Beki Bondage and L.O. Girls) and Pam Chowhan (pianist to Julian Lloyd Webber.)
A multi-instrumentalist, Tracie not only takes care of lead vocals but also plays drums, guitars, bass and keyboards on the album, while Pam plays violin, piano and keyboards. The other musicians on the album are Dave Dart (ex Kyrbgrinder) guitar, Nick Taylor guitar and Liz Sweetland backing vocals.
Hydeology was 3 years in the making and includes a mixture of older crowd pleasers from the live set such as Darker Side and Out of My Head plus brand new material written for the album such as Mister Hyde and Am I Dreaming?
Engineered by Alan Caves (Magnum, UB40) alongside Tracie and Pam, the album was then mixed by Tim Palmer & Tracie, and subsequently by chance fell into the lap of Mark Bloxsidge (ex Trilogy.) Mark’s astonishing ears and production capabilities prompted a hugely successful production partnership with Tracie which resulted in an exceptional final mix, at which point the album was then taken for mastering at Turan Audio Ltd where Tim Turan (Slade & Madness to name just a few of many) added the final polish and gloss to produce a stunning sounding album.
Hydeology brings together Tracie’s influences from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Ozzy, NIN, Queensryche, Kings X and Rammstein, and marries them with Pam’s formidable classical music skills. The result is an eclectic blend of hard, melodic rock n roll, coupled with the dynamism of classical instrumentation topped off with soaring solos from Pam’s violin, all of which creates the unique Symphony of Pain sound.
